Sonnet For My Sister

Two tiny angels playing with the stars
A game of pulling box or fairyland
You gathered from this childhood of ours
A thousand shiny moments for my hand

The world fills up with dreams along the way
Of girls and dancing laughter by the sea
And like a blue forget-me-not bouquet
My friend, my guide, drops petals on to me

Where rainbows find the earth and sisters meet
A golden goddess comes to stay my fears
Without you I cannot be quite complete
My failures wash away within your tears

And lest ye ever anguish or forget
Of all things precious, you're the dearest yet
